The Punjab government has approved a new law, the Punjab Ehsaas Program Act 2023, which will establish a central board to oversee 120 social services in Punjab. Ehsaas Kafalat program monthly stipend increased
Dr. Sania Nishtar and his team is working hard for taking steps to improve the quality of Ehsaas Kafalat payments to deserving families. The 20 more payment centers in 11 districts of South Punjab are organized for the sake of facilitating Ehsaas payments. As we know, the six-monthly stipend amount of Ehsaas Kafaalat has been increased from Rs. 12,000 to Rs. 13,000 for all beneficiaries after the date of 7th March 2022. Ehsaas is also taking coordination steps to strictly deal with fraudulent deductions. The Law & Enforcement Agencies are playing a vital role to support in executing Ehsaas disbursement operations across 42 Tehsils of South Punjab.
The 4-month installment of Ehsaas Kafalat has been increased from Rs 12,000 to Rs 13,000. All the eligible women or families can visit the nearest ehsas center to collect your full amount of Rs. 13,000 after counting. All women or families who were receiving financial aid under the Benazir Income Support Program (BISP) for 10 years but were disqualified through the new NSER surveys had their financial assistance discontinued by the government. However, these disqualified women will once again be able to receive a cash amount of 13,000 rupees to provide them with financial support amidst inflation. Reopening of Ahsas Program 2023 Registration Online:
The online registration for the Ahsas Program 2023 is being reopened. Starting from September 1st, 2022, Ehsaas Centers at the tehsil level will be operational. Eligible households that were unable to participate in the survey will have the opportunity to register at the nearest desk using the National Identity Card of the housewife as a reference. Women who are eligible but have temporarily closed accounts are requested to undergo biometric verification of their fingerprints at the nearest NADRA e-facility. Families experiencing difficulties with Ehsas Emergency Cash Assistance will receive support on a one-time basis, while those who have joined Ehsas Kafalat will receive permanent payments. The next installment of Kiflat will be disbursed after September. Eligible users will receive receipt messages from 8171. The cost of the quarterly stipend is contingent upon 70% attendance of enrolled children in school.
Former Prime Minister Imran Khan has given his approval to the “One Window Ehsaas Policy 2023,” which comprises seven pillars.
1) Ehsaas Program One-Stop Shop: The One Window Ehsaas Centers are designed to serve as a centralized location where beneficiaries can access comprehensive information about all the available Ehsaas benefits and services. The opening of the first center in Sitara Market, Islamabad marks the beginning of this initiative. Eventually, One Window Center will be established in all districts.
2) Integration of Back Office: The second aspect involves the development of an integrated digital interface for the back office, ensuring that all stakeholders within the Ehsaas ecosystem have access to the necessary links and resources. Currently, we are working on creating this interconnected system.
3) Digital Information Platform: The Ehsaas Digital Platform has been launched as a comprehensive resource where individuals can access all Ehsaas-related information and services in one place. This user-friendly e-portal is available to everyone, with the information presented in Urdu for easy navigation by beneficiaries.
4) Ehsaas Mobile App: A limited version of the Ehsaas App is currently available for download on the Google Play Store. We are expanding its features to encompass the entire Ehsaas Digital ecosystem.
5) Integrated Database for Ahsas Program Registration 2023: The integration of the Ehsaas database allows Ehsaas agencies to access real-time data from the NSER registration check using CNIC numbers. This enables the determination of potential beneficiaries’ eligibility and provides an overview of the benefits received by individuals and households across the Ehsaas program in Pakistan under PASSD agencies.
6) Unified Targeting Policy: The integrated database supports the implementation of the Ehsaas One Window targeting policy, making the targeting process predictable, evidence-based, and effective within the Ehsaas ecosystem. Socio-economic targeting under Ehsaas will utilize the Poverty Measurement Toolkit (PMT) derived from the Ehsaas Survey.
7) Policy on Ehsaas One Window: Historically, Pakistan’s social protection institutions have been fragmented, comprising numerous small, scattered, and poorly coordinated programs with limited resources. The Ehsaas Strategy, launched in March 2019, aimed to address these gaps and emphasized the concept of “One Window Ehsaas” as a priority initiative. The establishment of a dedicated Division of Social Protection and Poverty Alleviation marked the initial step towards the realization of the “One Window Ehsaas” vision.
