The Ehsaas Tahafuz program offers an online registration service as part of its Sehat Sahulat social initiative, dedicated to improving the health of the population. The Ahsaas Tahafuz project is a social protection program in Pakistan that aims to provide financial support to low-income families affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. It ensures access to treatment for any medical condition for individuals who do not possess a prime minister’s sehat card.
Initially launched at Holy Family Hospital in Rawalpindi to provide financial assistance for medical treatment, this program is Pakistan’s first safety net focused on addressing the needs of those who have experienced a catastrophic event. It has now been expanded to include 14 tertiary care hospitals across Punjab, Sindh, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Islamabad. Online registration for the Ehsaas Tahafuz Program is now available in 2023.

In collaboration with the State Bank of Pakistan, insurance companies, and various stakeholders, the Government of Pakistan introduced the Ehsaas Tahafuz Program as a social welfare initiative.
The main aim of the Ehsaas Tahafuz Program is to offer financial security to impoverished and marginalized families in Pakistan who face the threat of poverty due to exorbitant medical costs.
Within the framework of the Ehsaas Tahafuz Program, eligible families receive health insurance coverage from private insurance companies. These companies are tasked with handling insurance claims and providing administrative services. To ensure affordability for low-income families, the government offers subsidies to insurance companies.
